Jacob Cox

Jacob lives with the love of his life and wife, Laura Cox, and two cats, Epic and Saga. In 2018, Jacob retired from the U.S. Army, having risen from the rank of Private First Class, E-3, to the rank of Major, O-4. As a Soldier, Jacob served as an armament and electrical system repairer for the Apache Helicopter before earning his commission through Officer Candidate School. Over the years that followed, he served as a Chemical Officer, Signal Officer, and Telecommunications Engineer, and finished his 22-year career as a Cyberspace Operations Officer.

During Jacob’s service, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Clemson University, a Master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from Duke University, and a Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. His certifications include the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Project Management Professional (PMP). He has published in scientific and military journals, conference proceedings, and magazines. As a lifelong learner, Jacob is obsessed with audiobooks and online courses. His reading interests include fantasy, wealth building, self-development, programming, and spiritual sanctification.


Jacob works as a Solutions Architect for Cybersecurity and Electronic Warfare (EW). When he is not writing, working, completing an independent research project, or spending time with his wife, Jacob is an active real estate investor and stock trader. He published his first book, “Transition Time: A Veteran’s Guide To A Thriving Transition” in 2021.
